Rick Weaver

Spiritual Growth Director

Rick Weaver joined the staff of First Baptist Plano in 2021 as Spiritual Growth Director with a deep love for the church and a lifelong commitment to discipleship.

Rick and his wife, Debbie, have been part of the FBC Plano family for more than three decades. The couple married in 1976, and after Rick earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics from Lamar University in 1977, he began a 40-year management career with AT&T and Rockwell Collins. In 1988, Rick, Debbie, and their two young children, Carl and Rachel, moved to Plano. After several years as members of another local Baptist church, they were drawn to the warmth and community of FBC Plano, officially joining in 1992.

Rick has faithfully served as a Deacon since 2001, including two terms as Chairman. He has led adult Bible studies for more than thirty years and continues to share his musical gifts as a member of the church orchestra. Following his retirement from the corporate world in 2018, Rick felt called to deepen his service to the church. In 2021, he joined the church staff to support adult discipleship and outreach ministries, helping others grow in their faith and connection to the church family.

Rick and Debbie’s adult children live nearby and have blessed them with seven wonderful grandchildren.
