The following update was presented to FB Plano Congregation in both Modern and Classic Worship Services on Sunday, September 13.
We (the Senior Pastor Search Committee) started this pastor search process with an excellent training session on July 6th, had our first meeting on July 13th, and continue to meet nearly every week.
After completing the Assessment Phase, we’re now working on steps 7 & 8 in the Search Phase, inviting applicants and doing initial screenings and assessments of submitted resumes. We’ve completed the position description and have posted it on multiple sites.
Pastor Nic is fully committed to serving as our interim pastor. In addition to preaching almost every Sunday, he’s an integral part of weekly staff meetings, gives our pastor search committee wise counsel, and is helping Larry Wright, Bob Chase, & Dennis Gorman and the team working to refinance our loan. He provides consistent, strong leadership for our church, contributing to unprecedented stability during this interim time. All while working his full-time job for the BGCT!
Committee members and Pastor Nic are continually being asked if he could be our senior pastor. The Search Committee and Nic and his family hear you and are seeking to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit's leadership and committed to the search process.
With that in mind, your search committee now ventures out to discover the pastor God has chosen for our church.
