Bible Study Classes

Your children will attend age-appropriate classes where they will have a great time engaging in fun activities that teach the week's Bible story.

DISCOVERY KIDS - Sundays @ 9:30 a.m. (Bible Hour) & 11:00 a.m. (Project Hour)

We offer childcare for children under age five during our worship services and adult Bible study (ABF) at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. During their childcare time, our youngest children participate in play-based learning activities that reinforce the week's Bible lesson while their parents attend the Worship Gathering.

If you have a middle or high schooler, they will be right across the commons from the children's area.

What Should We Wear

You may dress however you feel most comfortable! Most of our families dress nice-casual. Some in our Classic Worship Service might wear something closer to business casual, but this is unnecessary. In our Modern Worship Service at 9:30 a.m., you will find people in very casual attire to business casual. Children dress as they would for school, though some like to wear their "Sunday best."

You'll find a little of everything, but if you're looking for the happy medium, you might feel most comfortable in a nice-casual attire.

What is the Difference Between the Classic and the Modern Services?

Put simply: atmosphere and worship leadership are what differentiate these worship gatherings. Both are family-friendly, and children may pick up a Worship Bag upon entering each service, filled with multi-age activities that reinforce biblical themes and stories.

Our 9:30 a.m. Modern Worship meets in the Worship Center and has a very informal and intimate atmosphere. Worshippers are led in contemporary worship music by our worship band, followed by a message.

Our Classic Worship meets at 11:00 a.m. in the Worship Center. This service is typically led by a full choir, orchestra, piano, and organ. The service will include scripture, old and new hymns, worship songs, a sermon, and time of response. Our pastor delivers the same sermon message in both worship services.

Our families typically choose whichever worship service fits best with their schedule. Others feel drawn to a particular worship model. Still, others alternate between the two services each week, so their children develop a wide array of worship expressions. However your family chooses to worship, we want you to know you are welcome to share these special moments of praise together. At First Baptist Plano, this is where we feel most like family!

Both of our worship services stream live online at their scheduled time, and we consider our online viewership just as much a part of our fellowship as those worshiping in-person with us! You can find our live streams on our Facebook page and YouTube channel.

The children's area is located just to the right as you enter the building.

All children will receive a badge with their name and a code. Parents will get a child "claim" ticket with the matching code they will show at pick-up. Teachers will match the codes in the classroom, and another person will check the codes one final time upon exiting the children's facility. If, for some reason, the teacher questions the legitimacy of the adult bearing the "claim" tag, the adult will need to show their identification. Teachers will only dismiss children to adults named on their "pick-up list." We will not release children to other children, even if they have a "claim" tag.
