Case Statement
For more than 170 years, First Baptist Plano has been a place of worship, discipleship, and community impact. Generations of faithful believers have built a church that stands as a beacon of God’s love and truth—a place where lives are transformed, families grow in faith, and the gospel is shared near and far.
In 2021, we took a bold step forward by relocating to George Bush Highway and bringing our unique culture with us. By the grace of God, this new visibility and accessibility has allowed us to have greater impact within the communities where we live, work and study, and greater reach around the world through mission endeavors. This new church home was largely funded through the generous gifts of our members; but it also required that we borrow money for the remaining costs.
About $11.5 million of that loan remains. Your sustained generosity has made it possible for us to make regular payments through our Operating Budget as we continue our legacy of ministry. But this debt service may limit our ability to expand our ministry in the future. By quickly reducing our debt, we can free up resources to be more effective at the ministries to which God has called us.
We want to continue our vision of being a Church on a Hill, by expanding ministry, deepening community impact, and broadening our mission reach around the world. The “From His Hand” campaign is about more than reducing debt—it is about faithful stewardship, lasting impact, and ensuring that First Baptist Plano remains a beacon of hope for generations to come.
We know that every good thing we’ve experienced here at First Baptist Plano has come from God’s hand through the generosity of his people. Now, we’re starting a new campaign, “From His Hand,” that is based on the text in 1 Chronicles 29:14. Our goal with this campaign is to help us focus on ministry and solidify our legacy. We invite you to prayerfully consider a three-year financial commitment to this campaign to help reduce our debt and allow us to focus more on our ongoing ministry.
By lowering our debt, we not only reduce a financial obligation—we free resources to do what God has called us to do. By giving boldly, we can significantly strengthen our commitment to ministry, missions, and the continued spiritual growth of First Baptist Plano. Our investment in the future will ensure that our church remains a beacon of faith and service for generations to come.
We have heard stories from a few members who have been significantly impacted by our church and have committed to the “From His Hand” campaign. These excerpts from their stories highlight the importance of First Baptist Plano in their lives. You can ready more about each family by visiting the links below! As you read about what God has done for them, reflect on your own First Baptist Plano story and begin to ask the Lord, “What’s My Part?”
Our interest rate will adjust to new rates five years after the origination of the loan, resulting in significantly increased monthly payments and reduced resources available.
If we raise $3 million to reduce our debt and refinance, we would make a significant difference in the amount we can dedicate to ministry. For every $1 given, we could save $3.20 in interest owed!
But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. 1 Chronicles 29:14
