Reflecting on our journey with First Baptist Plano (FBP), we are reminded of God's guiding hand and this church's impact on our lives. Our family moved to Richardson in November 2019, and while we initially attended another church, Jason always felt something was missing. In the fall of 2021, Jason saw the new FBP location off of George Bush in Plano and we decided to visit, and from that first encounter, we knew God had led us to the right place.
The people of FBP welcomed us with open arms. Their warmth, kindness, and genuine sense of community reminded us of the churches we grew up in. We quickly found ourselves drawn to Pastor Craig and his family, whose leadership and love for the congregation deeply resonated with us. This well-established church felt like home — where our family could grow spiritually and experience meaningful relationships.
Our family, including Jason's grandfather, who was 94 then, attended FBP for about a year before becoming members. We had the incredible honor of joining the church alongside Jason's grandfather, a cherished memory we will always hold dear. Our children also found a place to thrive. Our now college-age daughter connected so deeply with the church that she would attend services alone if we were out of town. In 2023, one of our sons, who had previously been shy and uncomfortable in front of others, found the confidence and comfort to be baptized at FBP with Pastor Craig and the church—a powerful testament to God's work through this community.
We wholeheartedly support the "From His Hand" debt reduction campaign because we believe this beautiful church building has become a beacon of hope and faith in our community. We understand that the decision to build and relocate was not an easy one, but because of the vision and sacrifice of those who came before us, families like ours have found a spiritual home. By reducing this debt, we can ensure that First Baptist Plano continues to welcome, inspire, and minister to generations to come.
It is our prayer that others will join us in this campaign so that, through God's provision, we can continue to impact lives "From His Hand."
