Don and Susan Snowden - What's Your Story

by FBC Plano on April 04, 2025

Our journey with First Baptist Plano began in the mid-1980s, and since then, it has become a major spiritual blessing. It has woven itself into the very fabric of our lives, marking family milestones and furthering our growth as a God loving family.
One cherished memory we have is our daughter’s baptism. The warmth and support from the congregation made us feel like part of a large, loving family. As our children grew, the church continued to play a central role in our lives. We celebrated two of our children’s weddings in the 15th street location, surrounded by the same loving family that had welcomed us years before.
Our connection with our Bible study classmates has been one of the most rewarding aspects of our church life. These individuals have become our closest friends, an extension of our family. The bonds we have formed through shared study, prayer, and fellowship are immeasurable.
Our involvement with the church has extended beyond these personal milestones. Though we had those memories created in the old building, we agreed that for us to reverse the downward trend of visitors and new members along with the condition of the building requiring a large monthly outlay of cash, we had to look at our options elsewhere. As such, we were actively engaged when the congregation decided to move to a more visible location. This decision was significant for all, symbolizing growth and a renewed commitment to outreach. Being part of that decision-making process was a testament to our collective faith and vision for the church's future.
Looking ahead, we are personally committed to the church's debt reduction campaign. We believe this is a crucial step for the future of First Baptist Plano. It is an important decision that will ensure we remain a vibrant and financially stable congregation, ready to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead.
This church has been a cornerstone of our lives, providing spiritual guidance, support, and a sense of belonging. We are grateful for the journey so far and look forward to continuing to serve and grow with our church family.
